There is a sadness that accompanies losing respect for someone. I think it is because I’ve learned that the person does not possess the character that I thought they did. Maybe it’s the disappointment in acknowledging that my previous admiration was based on imperfection. Seeing the chink in the armor disheartens me.

You and I don't handle disappointment well. It has been one of the hardest things for me to overcome in the past. J.P. has always said that I expect too much from people. He said to stop doing that and I wouldn't be disappointed. I have found that it does help. Most people are not like us and learning the truth sometimes hurts. Sucks don't it?
